Alessandra Pollock specializes in program evaluation and data and evaluation capacity building for human services, education, and other nonprofit and government sectors. Her evaluation work supports diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategies and has informed program improvements for college success collaborations, foundation investments, and supported program development before and during the pandemic.
Alessandra pursued graduate studies to learn more about good management and leadership practices and fell in love with research and analytics. As a result of these dual interests, her experience includes over 15 years of supporting the design and measurement of equitable performance measures, serving as a liaison between technical data system experts and program implementers, using qualitative and quantitative evaluation approaches to improve programs for participants, and continuing to improve her practice to achieve anti-racist outcomes for her colleagues, clients, and all impacted by her work. Before moving to a consulting practice, Alessandra served as a Policy and Program Analyst for the City of Seattle's Municipal Court Mental Health Court, helped launch collaborative continuous improvement structures at King County's Office of Performance, Strategy and Budget, and directed the data team for the South King County education collaborative, The Road Map Project. As a consultant, Alessandra has provided research and evaluation support for clients including the Greater Tacoma Community Foundation, Puget Sound Educational Service District, King County's Best Starts for Kids initiative, King County 4Culture, and as a member of Athena-led teams for Child Care Aware of Washington. She provides data and evaluation capacity building for King County Best Starts for Kids grantees, University of Washington Advancement, and others.
Alessandra loves to help organizations develop insight into operations, workload, and performance and then use those insights to make smart, meaningful change for better results. She enjoys building sustainable and continuously improving systems and coaching individuals through every stage of the data and analytic life cycle. She supports each of her projects as a collaborator and learner, bringing her expertise to elevate the wisdom and voices of those doing and impacted by the work. Alessandra earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Montana State University and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Washington Evans School of Public Policy and Governance.
